Zarfie is designed and owned by sisters, Maria and Juliet and proudly handmade on the Gold Coast, Australia.

With a dream to create garments that evoke a story, Zarfie was born to share the feeling of a never ending summer.

Peach and honey in the hot summer air, Calippo in one hand, the other hand holding tightly onto the back seat of the Nissan Patrol. Let us take you back in time a little, back to the summer of 1999.

Days spent in Nonna and Nonno’s bridal store, playing hide and seek under wedding gowns and sneaking into the window displays. For two little girls, this was going to be a significant moment in their lives and they didn’t even know it. The only thing on their mind was finding a coin to put into the Gumball machine at the front of the store. Flicking through vogue magazines and old records from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s in the back room of the shop while pasta is cooking in the kitchen and Italian music is playing through the stereo.

We were trying to pinpoint a moment when our dream for Zarfie began, then we started to remember moments like these and realised that there has never been one defining moment. Our inspiration for Zarfie is a collection of everyday moments from our entire lifetime and we’ve been lucky enough to share this with each other and now with all of you.
